How to Become a Reflexologist

Reflexology Training – Regulation

In Canada very few therapies are licensed or regulated. Reflexology is an unregulated or unlicensed health modality. However it is different in the USA. There are some states where it is regulated like Colorado and Florida.

Generally there are few things you need to know to enroll into reflexology classes.
• Minimum 18 or 19 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent (mature student).
• Total cost for the Reflexology Certification Program is any where from $700 and up, which includes the reflexology manual of information & all exam fees.

Reflexology Training – Online or In Class

There are many reflexology training courses that you can do online; do your due diligence and find out if the course is recognized by a provincial or national association.

The range of training in Canada varies tremendously. Some certified Reflexologists are very well trained through internationally recognized and legitimate institutions.

On the other end of the scale, some “Reflexologists” may receive their “training” by simply reading a book, attending an evening class, spending a weekend at a class and receiving a certificate of attendance on Sunday before they go home, or simply reflexology certification online by purchasing a certificate from a clearing house..

Check the practitioner’s credentials. Any legitimate instructor will belong to an association of some sort. Ask for references. It is your name, money and reputation on the line once you go through the process.
